01.09.2024 Tues AM BOCC
Meeting Highlights:
- Presentation by Wes McCart, Stevens County Commissioner on a new organization National Center for Public Lands Counties) that he is urging Okanogan County to participate in.
- Contract signed to fund WSU Extension Agent
- Discussion about parking lot at new Justice Center
- Discussion about a grant to fund Public Defender
- Public Works update – concern that proposed Zone Code rules around gravel pits will be a problem for the county. All the county pits (and most private ones) would be out of compliance under the proposed new rules.
- Discussion about Whistler Canyon horse unloading site.
- BOCC approves proposal for new Sheriff/Coroner equipment building.
